1. Overview & Our Privacy Commitment
Welcome to MyDownlods ("we", "our", or "the Service"). This Privacy Policy describes our practices regarding the collection, usage, and protection of information when you access our online media downloading tools, website, and related streaming utilities.
We believe that personal utility tools should not compromise user privacy. MyDownlods is purposefully engineered from the ground up to operate with minimal data footprint, requiring no user authentication and performing no surveillance on media consumption habits.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
Unlike many online platforms, we maintain a strict non-collection policy for personally identifiable data:
- No Personal Profiles: We do not require you to provide your name, physical address, phone number, or login credentials to fetch or download media.
- No Stored Media Files: We do not host, store, catalog, or archive downloaded videos, pictures, or audio files on our servers. Media packets are streamed directly in-memory from origin CDNs to your client device.
- No User Search Logging: We do not store an index linking your IP address to the video URLs you parse or download.
- No Financial Data: Our services are 100% free; we never request credit cards, banking information, or payment processing details.
3. Information We Process Temporarily
To keep the platform operational, fast, and protected against abuse, we process limited technical data:
A. Technical Transient Logs
When you make a request to our servers, standard web server access logs temporarily record technical parameters such as your IP address, browser user-agent header, timestamp, and HTTP status codes. These transient logs are utilized exclusively for DDoS protection, firewall filtering, bot rate-limiting, and debugging server errors. They are automatically rotated and deleted.
B. Browser Local Storage (Client-Side Only)
To improve user experience, MyDownlods saves a lightweight record of your recently downloaded items within your web browser's localStorage API. This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted back to our servers. You can clear this list at any time via the Download History drawer or the button in this policy.
5. How to Opt-Out & Manage Cookies
You have full control over cookie usage on your device. You can manage or disable cookies through several methods:
- Google Ad Personalization Opt-Out: Adjust your ad preferences directly at adssettings.google.com .
- Industry Opt-Out Portals: Opt out of third-party interest-based advertising through the Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) or the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance (EDAA) .
- Browser Cookie Controls: You can configure Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge to block all third-party cookies or notify you whenever a cookie is set.
6. Third-Party CDNs & Streaming APIs
When parsing media links, our service interacts with external APIs and public content delivery networks (including YouTube and TikTok source servers) to retrieve media metadata and stream chunks. We also utilize trusted content delivery networks (Google Fonts and Cloudflare / FontAwesome) to securely load typography and vector icons.
These third-party providers have their own independent privacy policies governing how their edge nodes handle network requests.
7. Data Security Measures
We apply modern security protocols across our infrastructure:
- HTTPS / TLS Encryption: All traffic between your web browser and our servers is encrypted using modern Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.3).
- In-Memory Streaming Buffers: Downloaded streams are piped transiently through memory buffers without saving unencrypted copies to persistent disk volumes.
- Automated Rate Limiting: Intelligent rate limits prevent abuse, scraping, and denial-of-service attempts.
8. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
Depending on your geographical location (e.g. European Union / EEA under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or California under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)), you hold specific privacy rights:
- Right to Know / Access: The right to request information on any data collected (as stated, we do not store identifiable personal data).
- Right to Erasure: The right to have data purged (you can clear local storage instantly in your browser).
- Right to Non-Discrimination: We do not charge fees or discriminate against any user exercising their privacy rights.
9. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
Our service is designed as a general-audience web utility. We do not knowingly collect, solicit, or maintain personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in certain jurisdictions), in full compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
